This is a carbon block cartridge with a 0.5 micron (nominal) rating.
This cartridge is Silver Impregnated.
[It's important to note that this Silver Impregnated Carbon cartridge is BACTERIOSTATIC - meaning that it inhibits or prevents the increase or growth of bacterial levels WITHIN the filter only. Silver Impregnated Carbon Filters WILL NOT sanitise, disinfect or remove bacteria from water. ]
It can be used as a stand-alone filtration medium, after a pre-filter (used to remove excess dirt); or before a ceramic filter (for ultra-fine filtration).
This cartridge is used to catch dirt, sediment, rust, silt; and adsorb chemicals for improved taste and odour.
